Default Ideas for physical hero team build?

Well, since a lot of people tend to say discordway sucks dps wise and beg to differ that you could do more damage with physicals. I think it'd be nice to get a good discussion on team builds to compare as well as for people to see there is more to guildwars than discordway/ sabway.

I don't want to make this based on a certain primary profession. Because we all know it can change from an ele ether renewal, to a save yourselves spammer dragon slash war, or a necromancer or caster or something.

From the looks of it assassin heroes are out because of their bad chaining times (scythe sins are a possibility but wouldn't rely on them keeping up enchants all the time). So most likely we'll be looking to warriors, dervishes, paragons and rangers as our damage characters.

So let's start brainstorming some ideas on how we can set up good a good physical team with 6 heroes and well count 1 physical main person with save yourselves just for the sake of saying "well discordway needs someone who can cast the hex and condition requirements".

I obviously believe one staple of the build would be a d/n orders dervish. So that way with 3 or so physical heroes and most likely 2 physical humans the damage bonus will be great along with extra healing support.

Human - ES war
Hero 1 - Derv Orders
Hero 2 - Random Para 1
Hero 3 - Random Para 2
Hero 4 - WS Derv with splinter
Hero 5 - BHA epidemic ranger
Hero 6 - Something that keeps your party alive

That's what I'd make out of it, and sometimes run. (using my brother's heroes)

There is already a similar discussion in the necro forums Clicky here.

As has been mentioned there a D/n will not always be the best option.

I would think that the basic setup of 2 paragon/1 order derv hencies in the sticky is a good start for a physical team.

It allows you to keep a mostly ranged team for optimal ebon standard of honor to further increase the damage along the orders, which will significantly increase the dps.
I've had some builds which were arround 8k damage over 179 seconds on master of damage, but with the standard could reach 10k. So on a physical team i'd definitly take that.

If you're considering 2 accounts ( 6 heroes, 1 main) i'd consider a setup of 2 para, 1 order derv, 1-2 rangers (bha/volley, barrage/interupt, incendiary/interupt..).
For 6 something purely for healing, possibly n/rt if you can kill fast enough. If not then something a bit more energy-reliable like e/mo. Ofc the backup from the para's as well as some form of SY!/TNTF and the healing from the orders should be enough to go with just 1 healer.

If its just 1 account itll be extremely difficult to do without going very defensive on para/para/dervish with SY! main (see sticky) because you cant rely on the hench for healing HM alone. This is why sab/discord is so powerfull; you dont need 2 accounts to make it work.

-Rangers + pets, mm, 1 snare/frontline (for keeping mobs in place), and a Mark of Pain necro / splinter N/Rt with foul feast (physicals need to be clean). Mark of pain is gud with rangers, minions and pets because it triggers a LOT. It causes mobs to scatter though so you should either snare them or bodyblock them.

-All paragon team with damage support can work as well, but rangers have better disruption, and pets.

-Scythe warrior team with warmongers/splinter rit, melee heroes involve a lot of micro-ing though, else they run more then they hit stuff

Hundred Blades on 3 heros plus your typical Barbs/Mark-O-Pain Hexes from somewheres.

Use another frontline charcater of some sort, perhaps anothe Hundred Bladeser with EBSoH.

Derv orders helps phys a lot, and doubles as monk support

Earth shaker + RoJ/Balth aura signet mesmers yummieyummie. I vanquished mirror of Lyss and desolation with that. Bah since some PvE skills were invented physical teams are even more viable right now. Not that I personally use them, but they're there, and they're good.

Basically, I think any decent physway is going to depend on the player profession. For example, if you're melee, you'd be blind not to take SoH/smiter. However, as a paragon/ranger/caster, a smiter would probably not be as useful as other possibilities.

This is one of the few things you have said that i agree upon 100%.

Hit the nail bang on the head, phyway teams need to be flexible, this doesn't mean they are a lesser choice, just that an understanding of the games physics coupled with a knowledge of the area will always result in varying builds.

Main problem is finding good builds that heroes can run for physical characters. Paragons with shouts= shouting more often than sending out damage. Warrior's Endurance scythe war heroes= don't use endurance until almost out of energy which is useless. Dervish heroes can't use the zealous enchant and don't really use the wind prayers energy management as well.

Just gets hard to find really good physical hero builds.

I almost exclusively use instant-cast shouts on para heroes. Watch Yourself, To The Limit and whatnot. They keep up soldiers fury pretty well especially when there's a shout up all the time, hence Watch Yourself comes in handy.

Soldiers fury up 100% of the time will get you pretty solid DPS. Catch is that it works best with 2+ paragons. This is because they're like cockroaches, they never fight alone :P

Hero builds should be simple and lame, I bet the R/D escape-scythe template might work ^^
